Nausicaa Pavilion : International Competition

Architecture

The Cultural Association “Il Tamarindo” announces the first international competition of ideas to design a pavilion for the info-point Nausicaa Festival – Festival of the Mediterranean Youth Culture – an event sponsored by the Institute for the Mediterranean Architecture (IsAM).

The call for “Nausicaa Pavilion” is aimed at university students of architecture, design and fine arts in the Mediterranean countries – who may participate individually or in groups.
Competitors will be inspired by both the artistic and architectural heritage of the Mediterranean region, developing their interpretation in a contemporary way.
The competition is not only one of the most important contributions made by “Il Tamarindo” to the Euro-Mediterranean intercultural dialogue, but also a unique opportunity for networking among young Mediterranean people.
The most deserving projects will be at the core of some travelling exhibitions – the first of which will be displayed at the Universities of Catania – Siracusa and Milan (Politecnico) – starting from September 2011.
The winning project will also be advertised on “L’Arca” – international magazine of architecture, design and visual communication.
All interested students are kindly invited to submit their project proposals by July 8, 2011.
There is no membership fee.
