Designboom in collaboration with MOLESKINE are organizing an international graphic design competition. Participation is open to applicants from every country in the world, to professionals, students, and design-enthusiasts.

Free registration is required.
Moleskine encompasses a family of nomadic objects: notebooks, diaries, journals, bags, writing instruments and reading accessories, dedicated to our mobile identity. Indispensable companions to the creative professions and the imagination of our times: they are intimately tied to the digital world.
Moleskine Logo
In our complex world with such an information overload, simple symbols are perfect for a more direct, efficient communication. Your brief is to create a logo for (the official blog of MOLESKINE, which is completely dedicated to you). The logo, a tiny piece of artwork, is a challenging task for all moleskine lovers.
We’re after the best ideas and concepts, reproducible on any surface. Moleskine might want to use the winning logo not only for the moleskinerie website, but also in other innovative and exciting ways as part of international promotion campaigns (ex: applied to gadgets, t-shirts and MOLESKINE notebooks).
- The logo needs to be sensible for use on the web.
- The logo needs to have vector art original so that it can be scaled to any size, it must look good for use in all print media.
- The logo needs to have transparent background so it can be sited anywhere.
- No watermark, signatures, or copyright notices may be added to images.
- The design must read ‘moleskinerie’, the logo can be text-based only or have a graphic symbol too.
- The logo must be easily recognizable and text should be easy to read. 
The designer of the winning entry will be granted a cash prize award of € 5000 euros, and as always, designboom will publish an exhaustive results report. The effective use of the winning entry by MOLESKINE will remain in the exclusive faculty of the latter who will be free to choose a different logo - also among the other entries -without losing the right granted.
Design criteria
It is important that you keep your design(s) confidential until the results of the competition are published. Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity. See what guidelines you should stick to : A sign of a great logo is its versatility, reproducibility, character and differentiation. Color is one of the main ingredients when it comes to designing logos. Ideally this new logo should also work in a single color, that it can be reversed out in order for it to work on any background color, or even a photograph. Please also consider the minimum dimensions the logo should work at before becoming illegible. The size must be adjustable from very small to large. A logo is packed full of meaningful information, one of the first steps might be gathering together all the information you need about MOLESKINE, such as what they do, who their target audience is, what their aims are and how they want to be perceived through their branding. We want to be surprised by your logo design!
Please don't send in vague concepts, but go a step further. It’s not the idea which is the art, it's more the way somebody handles the idea that makes art.

    this is a very difficult one.
    i had seen it on Designboom a while ago... and moleskines are too dear to my heart to see anything go bad here.. hehe
